SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Senator Chris Balkema (R-Channahon) extends his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make Valentine’s Day extra special for senior citizens across the 53rd Senate District.
“It was incredible to see the community come together to show love and appreciation for our seniors,” said Balkema. “Traveling the district and delivering these thoughtful cards was truly heartwarming. The smiles and gratitude from residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities made it all worthwhile.”
Thanks to the generosity of students, scout groups, churches, and other community members, hundreds of handmade Valentine’s cards were distributed to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term care centers, bringing joy and connection to those who need it most.
